Organ conversion

Salvaged a Lowrey TP-44 Genie organ with a Leslie tremelo from a dumpster a few months back. Worked, but there were resistors and diodes missing and several keys did not work. Finally stripped it down today with the intention of building a guitar amp. Plan is to have the foot pedal be a controller for the tremelo. New to aamp building and am looking for any advice about this build.

I am trying to find a good one online. Have downloaded a manual, but the typeprint in the schematic is not a good quality. May end up ordering a physical manual if no luck online. If I find a good one I will post it here

Based on the schematic I found, it's 100% solid state. If that's the case, why bother?

Why bother? Because I have the components to build a guitar amplifier and want to do so. Is that a problem?

Potentially, yes. Since it's all solid state, the chances of any of the original parts supporting tubes is unlikely. If you're interested in building a solid state guitar amp (don't, they're terrible) you're on the wrong website for support. We may support amps beyond the 18W family, but only tube amps.

If you want to build a tube amp, the schematic for the solid state amp is useless. It's not likely that the transformers would be useful either.

Good luck with that. You're embarking on a project that's likely to be unrewarding in every aspect, other than being able to say you did it yourself. You might want to consider a used SS practice amp for $20-30 while you mull this over.

This has nothing to do with us being some sort of elite. We are only trying to explain that none of us are familiar with completely solid state amps and trying to advise against building one. Components in SS amps are totally different from tube amp components. And SS amps sound like crap for people who build and love tube amps. It just izz what it izz
