Mojotone build - intensity as volume

Hello,

Thanks for this wonderful forum.

I am having an issue with my newest build. It is based off of an older Mojotone 18 watt. I have built a few of these with no issues.

The amp is amplifying fine, however when the tremolo is switched on and intensity is turned up, volume drops to zero.

Here are my voltages. They are reading higher than what is on the sheet.

Pin 1 - 185
Pin 3 - 2.03
Pin 6 - 231
Pin 8 - 2.04

I have checked connections, reflowed V3 socket and moved the .047 cap to pin 6.

If I had those symptoms and had built the circuit before successfully, I would suspect a mistake in the wiring, a shorted "whisker" or a bad connection as it sounds like signal is going to ground under some circumstances. The first thing I would do is get the schematic in front of me, carefully trace the trem stage from input to phase inverter marking the schematic as I go and looking for a short, or a wrong or missed connection. Also checking component values match the design.

Then if no joy, with the amp on, using a non conductive probe, tap all the nodes and joints move wires, etc seeing if you raise any untoward noises indicating a bad joint. Usual safety warnings apply.

Since you have built it before it is less likely to be the much reported Mojotone wildcard issues. But if you have not found the issue(s) take pics and post them with the schematic so we can try to help more.

Thanks for your help. It probably was a bad solder, but I ended up redoing the board using the new Mojotone layout and it works fine now!
