Question about mixing suoerlite and 18w normal chanel

Post by Davidbob »

Hello. Last year, i have build a mojotone 18W TMB, realy don't like it.
After that, i have remove all the components on the turret board, and start from new with Ceriatone layout. Sound a little better, but don' t like the drive on this amp, and sound too dark to my taste
So, i decided to start again with a clean turret biard, but this time, build a 18w tmb superlite, combiner with the normal chanel of a classic marshall 18w.
I post a pic of my schematic drawing. So please, tell me if the place were i connect both channel is correct, and my voltage point. Because on the tmb superlite the preamp is feed after a 27k resistor, and on the 18w classic channel, preamp is feed after the 8.2k, the same who feed phase inverter.

Than's for your help!

I've already done this. Take a look at the official docs: viewtopic.php?t=25606

The model you want is "TMB Modern Classic(ish)" - that combine's Phil's Superlite TMB with my normal channel Lite 2b(ish).

Full schematic, layout, and voltages are provided.

Thanks,
Josh

Of course! I don't see a point in them, but if you want it, go for it. You can also make it switchable if you look at my Xtra TMB series rectification: files/JMPGuitars_18W_Xtra_TMB_Schematic.pdf

Here's a comparison video using one of those amps:

Your 1n4730 zener diode, it is rated at 5w on your schematic but i can't find any zener 1n4730 5W,
All i find is 1W. Is it safe to use 1W?

Oops. That's a typo; 5W is minimum. I'll fix that (thanks for pointing it out).

Look at the link in my signature for B+ Voltage Reduction. There's a list of Zener diodes there to choose from.

Thanks,
Josh
