Its also easy to just go down isles at wal mart to lowes etc.. keep your eyes peeled and you'll see all kinds of usefull things that would work. look at gabis footswitch for his amp..its a lamp base. You can pick these up in different colors, sizes, and shapes. I made my footswitch out of a chromed soup ladel..Just cut the handle off,and drilled the holes for the switch and cable. I think over on the stombox page, people have some resorces for boxes too.

Small Bear is definately a good source. You can also get them from Antique Electronic Supply and several other places.
Hammond Die Cast Aluminum boxes are the usual choice but there are also some Taiwanese imitations and Japanese too.
The galvanized steel stud is great for that hillbilly homebrew look.

I haven't built any pedals at all let alone with the steel stud, but I have always been more into stealth. I've got my standard looking Tex-Mex Strat hot-wired to get all sorts of pickup combinations that stock Strats cannot get (see http://www.deaf-eddie.net and look for Emmett's Chromacaster switch). Sometimes the strangest looking devices sound the coolest. Adds an aura of "what the... ?!"gtrmac wrote:The galvanized steel stud is great for that hillbilly homebrew look.
