Hello anyone I recently just found a box of tubes that I bought from a guy on EBay about 2 years ago. They are german 12ax7s have "united electron ecc83" stamped in yellow and "made in germany h2 s d2" stamped in white.

I just plugged one in and it sounds very nice in v1

RFT's are nice sounding tubes, especially when pushed into distortion. Very smooth top end and still very reasonably priced.

Yep .. they're definitely RFT/Funkwerks tubes .. I got some from the Sarge. They have a very different plate structure than most other 12ax7/ecc83 tubes (look like aeroplane wings). I've got one of these in V1 in my 18watter .. very big bottom end, early breakup and smooth top end .. one of my favourite tubes .. at the moment .. lol

one of my favs too and i can still get em ! i kept 5 for myself.we had some issues with them due to there extemley fragile nature .be very careful with the funkwerks stuff as it has such vacuum its under extreme pressure just dropping them 1 inch into a box for storage can be fatal .ive lost 6 in such incidents.and im sure ive replaced 10 people have sent back claiming they were no good .be gentle with them put em in leave em in.id rate them on the top steps with amperex mullard brimar.good treble and bass response without the usual midrange headache that accompanys so many different pres.sgt od

These valves sound to me to be exactly what I look for , big bass, smooth treble and No mid hump, Anyone got any for sale, or a supplier?

I'm not sure where you'd get the RFT/Funkwerks ecc83's in the UK; maybe Watford Valves? However, the Sarge should have them in stock and will ship anywhere around the world (I got em within one week in Australia). They really are GREAT sounding tubes ..
