Ok. So I got my chassis punches. Spaced everything out for the tubes perfectly. Measured perfectly. Cut the holes really smooth.

One minor problem.....

I put all the holes backwards

I'm going to cry for a few minutes before I chug the rest of my bottle of scotch.

While I'm doing that, if any of you have any reasonable solution for my problem, please let me know

Aaron... Is the chassis already bent?

Because if not, you only have to bend everything the opposite way...

If you already bent it, hmm... that sucks indeed. I am sorry...

What is it made out of? Aluminum? Did you bend it yourself?

If not, try finding a gutter company or a metal shop, and they'll make a couple of them (bent but not punched) for a six pack of Corona...

gab.

Graydon's got it. I did a left handed 5E3 into a Rickenbacker cabinet/chassis. Assuming you haven't cut the PT tranny hole yet, just flip everything and be very careful.

well i came up with a solution. I'm building a head in a 17x10x3 hammond chassis. i drilled holes on the other side of the top of it. Since its just being mounted in a cabinet, the extra holes wont be visible.

A little sloppy looking, but hey, its my first try.

Hi Aaron,

Don't feel bad. I got several chassis here of various types bent the wrong way, or holes aligned weird etc.

Just note that to make your amp "left handed", your board's gonna be aligned opposite as well. OK if you havent eyelet the thing (flip it, then eyelet), but if you have, just add a few more eyelets to make the thing symmetrical again (not an issue with 18W).

Thanks!

Nik

PS - I also got a left handed 5E3!! LOL!
