Tremelo not working w/JJ ECC83 S in V3
With a regular ECC83 my tremelo works great and functions as it should (i think they're JJ.....Graydon, included in your kit, is this correct?). I popped in a new JJ ECC83 S in V3 and while it sounds fine with tremelo off, it produces a loud rapid ticking noise when turned on. I tried it with two different brand new JJ ECC83 S tubes with the same result. Has anyone had this problem? Is it the construction of the tube or something else that might produce this result?

Re: Tremelo not working w/JJ ECC83 S in V3
I am including EI 12AX7s in the kit right now. They sound good to me and so far they have all worked fine in the tremolo section.RussianBear wrote:With a regular ECC83 my tremelo works great and functions as it should (i think they're JJ.....Graydon, included in your kit, is this correct?). The power tubes are JJ though.
I had a ticking tremolo a couple weeks ago on an amp that I built. After staring it down for a few minutes, the wiring appeared to have a fault, but I can't remember right now what it was that I forgot to solder. If I remember, I'll come back and tell you. Sorry.
Go through your wiring in the tremolo section though and double check every connection and wire. Also, make sure you check the connections to the trem speed and intensity pots per my sticky post in this section above.

ok, I'll check again. the weird thing is the trem works perfect with the tubes you included with your kit (ECC83), but it doesn't with the ECC83 S which should be the same, just the newer version of the JJ "12ax7" offering.....hmmmm.....
I'll try it with other 12ax7's I have and see if it produces the "ticking".....
