N.O.S. caps VS New caps please explain
I hope someone can explain this please.
I have been servicing and building amps for going on 6 years now
I am no expert and mostly self taught lots of reading and surfing the
net
I know that you well get the best tone and performance out of an old amp when fresh caps are put in eg: replacing the Astron (leaky) caps in a tweed Fender.
Why is it socially acceptable to use N.O.S. or "pulls" eg: BumbleBees
in a Les Paul ???
Last night I saw an auction on ebay for Two Bumblebees one with very short leads and the auction was up to $86.00
I just purchased new a 1958 Historic Les Paul and it has BUmbleBees in it
they are smaller than the old style Bumblebees
does anyone know if these are reproduction or just a different
manufacturer and will I be able make the guitar more authentic in sound by using the O.G. style ???
sorry to be so long winded
thanks for your time
