Question on the current 36 watt layout

Hi all and hopefully Ritchie,

I have a question about the 36 watt layout as I am starting my project and hope to finish it in about a week. The Feedback Switch, is it a DPST? I always forget this stuff. The second question is about the Middle pot/switch. Does it add a lot of versatility to the amp? I mean, is it worth the hunt for the part? I found one at StewMac but, they only have alphas. I plan to use AB and PEC pots I have and the alpha is kinda a weird fit. Especially for the ground bus. If you think that that extra bit makes the sound, by all meand I'll get one. If not let me know. Thanks!

From my experience the Tone stack bypass switch really opens up the sound of the amp. it increases the overall sound output considerably as well. also, when you use the normal channel, it by default goes through the TMB stack on its way out, so by lifting the stack on the tmb side, you are effectively only running the single tone control for the normal channel. This is just some added versatility.

Im only replying because i've played around with this setup on mine and also have done this mod to my BF Bandmaster and i have liked the results.

Yes, it's a DPDT switch, but only for the convenience of mounting the parts on the unused terminals. A SPDT switch would electrically do the job (as shown in the schematic).
