Headphone Amp?

Post by Gabi »

Hi all...

I am looking to trade some 18watt parts (faceplate, unpunched chassis, etc.) for a cheap headphone amplifier. Wife sais I play too loud

Or if someone has a schematic and tried it already please let me know. I'll make one too.

Thanks,
Gabi.

Gabi,

You know, I get that same story from my wife.
Things will only get worse with a new toy!

If you decide not to build one, let me know. I have a rockman
that I don't use and since I am just getting started...., parts is
what I need! Maybe we can work something out.

Thanks,

Bird

(Thanks again for fixing the avatar for me. As you can see it works just fine!)

I'll second that! If you can't bear to play a 1-3W amp then the POD is the way to go.

If you just want quieter without losing the fun of pushing your power amp, there are quite a few home-brews out there with 12AU7 & 12BH7 power sections ("like my Decimator, for example" he said with a grin)...

Playing loud

Post by SpentMusic »

I must be the luckest person. My main amp is a 200 watt HiWatt going into multiple 15 EVM 15B's and my wife just deals with it. Now when I sing that is another story but she is still moving forward on that. Another 50 years and it will be total bliss!!!! LOL

That sounds like Paradise for me!
The thing on my part is that I live in a condominium full of elderly people...
But hey! Maybe they are deaf!!!
There is hope!

Loud playing

Post by SpentMusic »

Gabi,

If you play loud enough they will be deaf!! No wait that would not be nice, I'll settle back down and go down and build some cabinets.
