Custom 30watt amp

I wanna build a custom build amp for my taste, something simple but I dont know how to start design it

It must be 30 watts ( 4 EL84 )
1 volume control which you can pull for more gain (also footswichable)
EF86 design

and thats it

Now for your pull-switch-boost, you may add a gain stage that is switched with the boost, or maybe work something else out with the regular AC30 design. Perhaps a clean boost pedal, or an overdrive pedal.

Or just buy an AC30 or a Hayseed 30.

dunno... maybe...

or just use a regular 36W layout and adjust components to fit. most of the components are laid out in the same spot just different values, altho you'll have to work out your own EF86 wiring but it's not exactly that much tougher than paralleled triodes in a 12AX7, you just connect different pins and you have two more components.

I cant find the layout for the ac-30 with ef86 included--anyone??

Just use a regular 18W layout for the PI, power stage, adjust the component values to match the AC30/4 schemo where different.

Other than that you have like 10 more components. It should be easy enough to work out a layout. Pots on one side, tubes on the other.
