My first project...

Good morning,
I am a player who has been marvelling at the various 18 watters i've been seeing guys use-Blockheads, the Weber kit, Dr. Z Maz Jr., etc.
Where's the best place to begin if I'd like to try to build one aside from having someone experienced with electronics and fairly high voltages
help me with the process? Is the Weber kit a good one?

1. We do not discuss W*b*r as there has been hassles with him here in the group.
2. His kits are good. The switches are cheesy. There are no instructions, just a schematic and a layout.

I think your best bet is to take your time, read up on it, try and understand the schematics and layouts... Ask a bunch of questions and start there.

Perhaps you want to investigate the most vendors and see who would serve your needs the best. Weber is an option, but he prefers you get support on the forum on his website as opposed to here.

Other vendors would be Ceriatone, Trinity, GDS, S2... Mhuss.. many more... Please people... ad any vendors in here that I forgot... there are so many... and all got rave reviews...

The key is to take your time and plan everything...

spend alot of time in the downloads and gallery sections. Make sure to jump to the Zounds section frequently, where you can listen to the sound samples to keep your appetite wetted for the build.

Don't forget the original one, by the "father" of this web site Graydon Stuckey, gdsamps.com GDS kits cost a little more, but are very high quality and come with detailed, step-by-step instructions.
