Here's an article in the NY Times about how the Russian maffia is trying to take over ExoPul (who, according to the article, manufacture 2/3rds of all vacuum tubes used in the music industry)

I read about this last December at TGP. it here http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showth ... p?t=118725

It's a LOOONG read and not all of it is about the ExpoPul factory but it has some good info in there. If you have the time...I think it's worth the read!

I was born in russia - thanks God I'm not there now. It's a barbarian country and they can easily do anything - blow the plant, kill the employees or whatever. It will take some 50 or more years untill it will become a safe place that you would make business with.

Still, I've never heard of that particular plant and there is a whole bunch of factories making tubes in Russia so the world would not collapse if that plant dies.

And I like JJ tubes more.

My advice to mr. Matthews - sell that plant and buy something in China.
