Thanx for that fill think you reassured me a bit, just checked on the site again and ive noticed that the choke is 100ma 15H rated, so i am guessing that this will defo not be powerfull enough to take the load coming through from the power tranny?

Cheers Again

Would it be a lot less hassle to build an 18watter ?

I think it would be far easier to build a richie TMB 18watt. I've looked at the schematic, and I can see alot of gain on that pre-amp. I Think you'll get alot more 'tone' from this amp, and after the 2204, this is the next amp on my list that I wanna build. Plus there is no 'diode over drive' in this, all tube. and further more, at 18 watts, you'll be able to drive those output tubes sooner, and it will sound amazing at lower volume levels.
Now, if only I had a scanner for my layout (yes!! its done!!)

The choke only takes the current for the screen resistirs, PI and preamp. So a 100mA choke is way over spec. Yes, an 18W or 18W variant would be way easier to build, and unless you're an experienced amp builder I would strongly recommend that instead. The TMB is brilliant design, combining elements of the 18W and Marshall Plexis. It has a lot of gain, and you can add one cathode bypass cap to get even more out of it. The idea of these amps is that you run them flat out and loud. Then with a good Les Paul, you would have no trouble doing a Slash thing....

If you've built a High Octane that doesn't hum or squeal, then you'll do just fine! :D

Phew!
Now, for my amp. Every time I look at the schematic, I feel I need to add something :). It gets more and more changed from the original, soon it will be unrecognizable from the original :). It now has footswitchable channels, 2 completely seprate pre-amps (well, the clean pre-amp is REALLY simple, not much to write home about, I designed it myself!!) its turning into a 2205, but without the reverb, and the odd method of channel switching. I gonna get a scanner from a freind, and scan all my work in, and then I'll leave you to make sense if it. Im really proud of my layout, and design.
Although, I've suddenly realized something. That stuff you use to put the turrets on, I think its called G10 (?). Were can I get it from? Even better, is there anywere/one that will drill and place the turrets for me?

Go to www.ceriatone.com Nik will do you a board and a complete kit of quality components for a very reasonable price, with or without the components soldered in place. He's a very helpful guy.
