Ei Elites vs. Ei Elite Golds EL 84's

What is the tonal difference between the regular Elites and the Golds?

The gold have gold pins. Caution,EI can build world class tube but lately[last 3 years] have huge microphonic problems. They seem unable to fix. I sent back 3 sets trying to get a set that was not microphonic upon arrival. I payed for matching. I gave up For a little more money you can get Tesla Rosnov[not JJ] off the sarge for decent coin and these are awesome sound!! Good luck.

i've had nothing but problems with the 12ax7's. But I like the el 84's and have used both the gold pins and the regular elites to me there is no difference.the 12ax7s are very prone to microphnics!

Yea I have yet to hear any bad press on the Ei EL84s from anybody. I'm about to snag me another set.

I guess that I should have been more specific, I'm quite familier with the microphonic problems of the the 12ax7's. I was really looking for info on the el84's. I've got a set of regular elites and really like them, just wondered if there was any tonal difference between those and the Golds. Looks like there isn't, thanks for the info guys!
