Looking for some help

Post by inquisiter_bob »

Im just starting and i am geting very confused. i want to make an amp for my self but dont know where to get started. i need to know if...

1) i can put distortion unit in it
2) there is anyway to put an EQ systom in it
3) there is any spicific rules i must follow to make it sound good

If anyone could spare some time to help a dude out there it would be greatly appriciated.

It allready has distortion. Listen to the clips. But yes you can use effects, alot of people are using them with the 18watt. I like to use just the guitar and the amp.

If you build the TMB version, it has one. T=treble M=middle B=Bass
Again you can use a outboard eq, if you like. I don't think you would need it though.

Follow the layouts and schematics. They are known good and many have built from them.

If you have never built one, then I would suggest buying a kit from the many suppliers that will come with a builders guide.

GDS, Trinityamps ...etc....

Lots of avenue's..... You should start by studying and reading threads etc....

Good luck, and if you get stuck, many are here to help.
