This has come in very handy, being the newb that I am.

I also have discovered "Varible Capacitors", anyone ever used these in a build or could you shed some light on them? Just wondering.

Variable caps were used in radio tuners in the olden days (may still be, in some ham rigs), but they tend to be very small in capacitance, in the tens to hundreds of pF, and as such aren't very useful in most audio circuits.
