Mark Durham Giveaway Grand Prize winner announced!!!
Guys,
The GRAND PRIZE for the Mark Durham Memorial Giveaway is an 18W amplifier called the Vajra which was designed by Mark Durham. This was his baby and an example of the Vajra can be found on the latest Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians CD.
Further, the winning ticket number was chosen by Sheri Durham and her two daughters, Jessica and Marissa. Each one of them picked a random number between 0 and 9, in order and the three digits were put together to form a number between 0 and 999. We have not sold more than that many tickets so every ticket had an equal chance. There is also some "mojo" in the fact that Mark's family picked the winning numbers.
The grand total of donations now is $8164. This amount (minus paypal fees) will be sent to Sheri Durham as soon as I can cut a cheque. A portion of it was already sent to Sheri back in the fall. After this, donations to 18watt.com will be kept in the 18watt.com account for website expenses and any other expenses related to running this site. We are coming up on another webhosting bill, so if a few of you could donate some bucks, it would be appreciated.
So without further adieu, the winner of the grand prize Vajra amplifier designed by Mark Durham is:
Richard Johnson
Congratulations to Richard on winning the Vajra amplifier.
Thank you to all who donated money and prizes to the giveaway. I am overwhelmed by the extreme generosity of everyone involved here.

Congrats Richard! You deserve it for all the great advice you leave around here.
I am not the kinda guy to run out and buy an Edie Brickell CD but my fiancee did and I have to say that I was struck by how great the guitars sound, I was really curious what kind of amps they were using long before I had even heard of the Vajra. The guitar playing, and actually the CD as a whole, is excellently and flawlessly composed, performed and recorded.

Congratulations Richard! Like Alexo said, you deserve it.You always seem to be there to help everyone. You have helped me immensely.
This forum is such a great place. After a very tragic accident, many of you offered your time and materials to generate some expense money for Mark's family. It was such a class act .Anyway to see one of the guys that freely offer his time and knowledge win this prize was only fitting.
