My 36W powered Trinity chassis

Hi,

After one year of tweaking a 18W TMB prototype (salvaged chassis transformers, and parts), I was never satisfied with any of the TMB designs found here (too fizzy for me).

I finally decided I just needed more punch, and went the 36W way. I got the new Trinity chassis with a Heyboer tranny set (here Stephen was kind enough to place a special order for me).

The laydown PT (HTS-7042-C) fitted right in, so I just relocated the standup OT (HTS-7013-1), and enlarged the rectifier hole to accomodate the GZ-34. I also got a JJ EL-84 quartet from "NBS Electronics", and properly oriented ceramic tube sockets from "The Tube Store".

For now I just transfered my "prototype" guts (with Ritchie last tweaks) in the new house, and immediately found that tone I was looking for (later on, I might still be experimenting with the EF-86 version, I'm not a hi-gain type, and I read a lot about it...).

For the final assembly I also ordered (still waiting) a new board, and miscellanous components from "Turrets Boards" (I still have 400 vintage British split turrets). This will be a 4x10 half stack with Celestion G10S-50s.

I'm very slow (still have a day job...but aproaching retirement...) I'll keep you posted.

However I did not show the ugly internals (actually a prototype board that has been patched and redrilled so many times).

I'll post the guts later on, with the new board in, and the cabs covered (not decided on color yet).

Well, it took me more than one year to fine tune the prototype, and build the final version. Here's my new 36W-RP.

I built the head in the new (well, over 6 month old ) Trinity chassis. I also built the head cab following plans on Trinity site. I added my personal touch with top vent, a la Marshall 100W.

I also built the 4x10 slant cab following the plans in the download section here. I have 4x Celestion G10S-50's in there.

Sounds exactly (the amp, not the player) like the Ritchie sound files also found on this site.
