rattling sovtek 5y3gt

Hi there!

Today I changed the sovtek 5y3gt rectfier tube of my custom 5E3 for a TAD premium selected.
I shook the sovtek and it rattles like it has losen parts, but it worked.
Is it better to throw it away, because that issue could harm the amp?

If it were me, I'd probobly throw it out. First of all, it's just a Sovtek 5Y3, no great value there. Second, do you really want a rattling tube in your amp?

I have a Tung Sol 5881 that rattles. I probobly won't ever use it, but I do keep it in the collection, as an example of this particular tube.

I have stopped buying those, I had at least 10 of them rattle fresh from the box. IMO, Sovtek 5Y3's are pure S***, and they are not actually a True 5Y3 to begin with.

I have heard guys say, " I never had problems with mine" , But I just laugh while saying, YOU WILL .

mine rattles too, but works. However it doesn't work like a 5Y3 should, so I don't like it. Did the TAD drop the voltage like a 5Y3 should?
