ac 30 trannies to make a 36 watt?

Hi guys, great forum.
I have a set of ac 30 trannies, the power I was told is out of a bedrock amp and the output is new and was bought from holffman a few years ago. I was wondering if these would work good in a 36 watt? Would I need to make any changes or could I use the posted layout? Would I still be getting the expected 36 watt tone or should I be ussing these for a ac 30?
Also if that is the case how would you compare the sound of an ac30 to a 36watt? I have never played a vox so I am not shure what it would be like.
Im fairly new to this so your help is greatly appreciated. Ive already learnd a lot from reading the forum, this place is awsome.

I am not an amp Guru, I am a rookie in my knowledge of amp building, I have built 3½ amps and about 10 pedals, with that said if you go to the gallery I have pics of the amps I have built.

I just finished a 6v6 build that I originally built as an 18w Lite IIa at least it started that way and lasted about 10 months until 6v6 took over, reason I am telling you this is because it has an AC/30 Heyboer PT, my first amp was the Richie's 36watt build, the difference in clean tone between the two (18w & 36w) was not as much as you would think, Big sound and very loud, to loud for me so I sold it to one of my students, he wanted a big sounding amp and it is big, I was not 100% on the 18w EL84's and wanted to actually go to EL34's or E34L's or the KT77's which I really want to try.
I took a shot with the 6v6 and love the tone, now the amp is a little more meaty, chunky and clean head room.
The style of music you play will be a big dictator of amp direction.

I am fairly sure that my amp (Ampmaker PP36 36W Lite) has transformers that are close, if not identical, to AC30 items.

The amp doesn't sound like an AC30, not in the slightest. It sounds like a louder, more ballsy 18W. There is definitely more chime and sparkle than my 18W, a result of the larger OT?

Assuming the voltage and current outputs, and impedances are all correct, I would therefore say that AC30 trannies would make a great 36W.

Thanks for your replies, sounds like they will build a great 36watt. So thats what Ill be doing.

Man I am jellouis. That sounds so fun. I was thinking almost the same thing. I would like to try a 36watt build and I think Vox tranies would rock. I used a set of vox tranies for a TMB build and I like it alot. BTW I have a bud with a vox ac30 and could 30 watts be any louder? Love that amp.

Those should work fine. Heyboer also sells a set of 30 watt AC30 standup set of trannys.

Most of Bedrocks PT's had high voltages and were SS rectified, what do you have for voltage spec's?

Actually, I realized I have my trannies mixed up the ac 30 power tranny I have is a holland. The bedrocks I have Im ussing for a 50 watt plexi. Sorry for any confusion. I havent had time to check voltages yet but it has quite a few center taps.
