Matchless Lightning build
I can't figure out how to best utalize these transformers I have? I was looking at my schematics for a Lightning circuit I've been wanting to build and a Matchless cab I got from Anthony R sitting here and a pile of parts and I want to build a 35 watt of so amp. The deal is I got this big vintage PT out of a Zenith amp that pushed four El84s and I have a Hammond 1620 OT. I guess I asking if any of you have done one or do you have a circuit I should try? I just can't make up my mind??? Heres the chassis so far.

Beautiful chassis!
Try a DC-30 or HC-30. There's some info here:
http://www.trinityamps.com/
Or ,maybe a Liverpool or Rocket. Info here:

Good luck with whatever you build.

Yea I allready got several 15 and 18 watt amps and I want to try for over 30 this time. I don't know what the specs are but it's a beafy PT. It came off a Zenith console amp chassis pushing four EL84s so I'm not too worried. The number on it is 12A2A? I can't find any info on it. I'll check it anyway.Coco wrote:If it doesnt have to be 30 W, there's the TC-15 (15 watt DC 30 'like'.)
What's your B+ or PT specs?

Yea its easy to do. Just get a brush wheel, the round ones with the bristles facing down and chuck it in you drill press and go to town. Yep the salsa dip is my secret weapon! loldrhulsey wrote:Did you do the machine turned finish yourself It's quite impressivejonnysocko wrote:Heres the chassis so far

DC-30 needs 1 more tube socket than you have on the chassis . OTW go for it!

What about a 36W, maybe like Richie's Richamp, you can hear samples of in the Zounds section. Tone to die for!jonnysocko wrote:I can't figure out how to best utalize these transformers I have? ...The deal is I got this big vintage PT out of a Zenith amp that pushed four El84s and I have a Hammond 1620 OT. What's your B+ or PT specs?
Do you have a layout finished for the TC-15? I was just cruising the Trinity forums, and found the TC-15 prototype thread, and that sounds exactly like what I want out of an amp - DC30 tone without the rediculous amount of features of the DC30.

Yes, it's finished and kits are shipping. Start a new thread if you want to discuss it, here or Trinity forum.HiWaTTage wrote: Do you have a layout finished for the TC-15?
