I was in a band with him for a while... his post punk minimalist stylings were very understated. Some criticised him for lack of stage presence, but I always found him very easy to be around... never disagreeable, pretty quiet.
All round nice guy.

Well, he must have changed from the time from when he and I were bandmates. He was a most disagreeable prima dona type, I found. Always thought his "chops" were the best on the planet, and he wasn't afraid to condescend to other guitarists that we knew mutually--Hendrix, Allman, a few others. Had a habit of saying ludricrous things, like he invented the Asus2 chord. And his drug and alcohol abuse were the stuff of legend. I have never seen one creature consume that much booze and still survive. He had some of the craziest riders that I've ever heard of--he insisted on a bowl of orange carrots being on hand, right on stage. Glad he cleaned up his act by the time he came into your band. Kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, actually--I promised myself I'd never work with his kind again.I was in a band with him for a while... his post punk minimalist stylings were very understated. I just think it's amazing the way he can communicate so much, and yet play so little... He introduced me to Jamie Hendrix and Dwayne All-man as well. Amazing guys...veets wrote:Always thought his "chops" were the best on the planet, and he wasn't afraid to condescend to other guitarists that we knew mutually--Hendrix, Allman, a few others.
