Head Cabinet Drawings

Post by user669 »

I have been working on a set of plans for head cabinets and combo cabinet and I am trying to make them as easy to understand as possable so I would like everyones input.

This cabinet is 23" wide and can fit any 18 watt head out there.

If something is not easy to understand let me know.

Also if someone out there has acrobat and can size these down to letter sized that would be great.

EDIT!!
I reduced the size and combined the pages into one file.

Very easy to follow, thanks a lot! :D

Out of curiosity, is the rabbet on the inside back panel a standard feature? I guess I have never noticed it before.

Nice job Mike, very clear!

What is the radius you use for the corners of the front and rear panel openings?

Resized to 8.5 x 11 and reduced files size

Post by Michael »

Team,

I reduced Mike's great drawings to 8.5" x 11" and cut the total file size from 28Meg to 500k.

Best to all,

EDIT: ADDED SINGLE FILE, FIVE PAGES TO LINK. 250K FILE SIZE.

I edited the plans to include the radius of the panel cutout corners.

Thanks everyone I am glad to see that the plans are easy to understand. I guess I will go ahead and make plans of other cabinets.

The back panel rabbet is optional but it helps to keep the back panel flush when it’s on the cabinet.

Michael, thanks for the picture! I like to see cabinets that I made in their new home! When I have the plans finalized will you size them down again?

pylet2000, do you have a photo of yours?

If anyone finds anymore info missing let me know I will correct it

Yes, I will convert these tonight. My guitar teacher loves your cab, as does everyone who sees it. Sounds great with my Hellatone 30 & 60 combo. I play my converted AO-35 (18Watt Lite IIB) through it.

EDIT: SINGLE FILE 8.5 X 11 VERSION ADDED, 250K FILE SIZE.

Hello,

I have a Brown Note Lite IIb on order... I took a look at Mike's site... can you please tell me which size you chose for yours? Did you get a head cabinet or a combo?

Thank you!

I have purchased two head cabinets and two 1X12 speaker cabinets from Mike and the workmanship is great as is the cost. I have received many comments on them.

I need some bookcases...

How about a 2x12 slant cabinet. We seem to have a lot of interest in those from time to time.

Have you considered a Marshall-style 2x12? I want to build a 2x12 that would look similar to this 1x12 (1974CX):

I am going to be putting together plans for the 18 watt combo 1-12 and 2-12. I will do a speaker cabinet as well. Looks like everyone is favoring the 2-12 slant so I will start with that one. Thanks for the input I hope the plans are helpful
