Electro Harmonix 6CA7 TETRODE???

Post by 149 »

I noticed recently that EH describes its new big bottle 6CA7EH as a tetrode. The RCA Receiving Tube manual clearly describes the original 6CA7 as a PENTODE, with separate external connections for each grid. Yet EH states on its website that the new 6CA7EH is designed "to the exacting specifications of the Phillips 6CA7". EH does not provide pinout diagrams for its tubes, so I have no way of knowing what happened to the grid 3 connection. Is it internally jumpered to the cathode?

Can anyone shed any light on this?
