Don't listen to the naysayers...the Cele blue sounds fabulous with an 18w.

I'f it's too bright, adjust the tone knob. People put them on guitars and amps for for a reason....

I've really been digging the Warehouse WGS Blackhawk 50W alnico with my EF86. Basically a warmer blue that doesn't crap out on the low end but you still get a little compression when you push it hard.

I ran a C-blue with my carmen ghia (18 watt) for over a year... had it dime'd many times for a full hour set. It held up fine. The numbers don't make sense... but I think the blue is pretty well built and a bit under rated... that said, they are not cheap. YMMV

Jensens have a completely different voice, none of them sound even remotely like Celestions.

thanks, I was just wondering if there was a cheaper way out. I'll save my pennies. I'm not ready for speakers yet so i still have time.

Check out Warehouse speakers. They make excellent clones of pretty much every Celestion at a much nicer price plus they're made in the USA.

People like the Eminence Red Fang which is much less expensive and made in USA. I have a pair of the 10" version in my 18 and they are great. They are actually quite warm sounding to my ears, not shrill as some say about AlNiCo. YMMV.

I use a celestion blue and a Hellatone from Avatar in a Lite IIb combo. I found the blue to have piercing highs. I put a diffuser over part of the speaker and it sounds great now to my ears.

microamp, Celestion Blues don't have piercing highs after they've been broken in. Do you have at least 100 hours of loud playing on it?

I've been using a single blue with my 18watt and it's fine - no problems!

Hello to the forum!

53H1777 is also what I read on the cone of my brand new chinese made G12H30 classic (70th anniversary).
