You're the master Josh!!!πŸ‘
Your layout is the work of a meticulous librarian!!!
lol, thanks.

I'm not done yet, but I posted a quick demo on my instalame: https://www.instagram.com/p/CF44OVBHaho/

Thanks,
Josh
Sounds good already! And pretty quiet noisewise. Good reverb and good trem!!
I think the tremolo TMB has its own thing going...

Thanks guys. ;)

If you think that sounds good, just wait. I modified the wiring on V1 a little bit, and played with the lead dress. The amp is much quieter now and the sound is crispy. BTW- I have it wired now with both the tremolo and reverb foot-switchable.

Here's an updated demo: https://www.instagram.com/p/CF7i89PHfmr/

BTW- the first demo had the attenuator on, so if you thought that was clean, check this one out with the attenuator bypassed.

I'll post a proper demo once I put it in the combo cab and make a footswitch for it.

Thanks,
Josh

The amp sounds phenomenal, but I'm not generally a tremolo guy. Now that the amp is built, I'll play it a little more to experiment with it and make a demo. But then it will very likely get sold. ;)

My favorite amp is one I designed, but didn't share (I might eventually, haven't decided). It's called the Xtra TMB Reverb. It's the amp that I designed after the EF86 Xtra. I think I need to make a demo of that one too. But here it is: https://youtu.be/GZPsdjDZd58 - it's the black one. Mine (the black one) is 36W with reverb. The white one is 18W and no reverb, both the same circuit otherwise.

Thanks,
Josh

The cowboy tolex is awesome, man.

OK, QUESTION!

I love the sound of the Princeton onboard reverb circuit. The TMB trem circuit is organized quite differently. Would it be possible to insert the reverb circuit into this circuit? Add a reverb driver tube? Mix the signals in between the V2 gain stages?

No idea! Just thought I'd ask.

Well, I believe the Princeton has a reverb with 2 tubes, which could hypothetically work if your power transformer can handle all the tubes.

My Tremolo TMB in this thread has my version of the "single valve reverb" - but to be fair, my version is better. πŸ˜‰

I'd share the reverb circuit if people ask the right questions/make the right observations from the images I posted in here, but nobody is playing the game yet. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Right, the Princeton uses a full 12AT7 driver tube, a reverb driver transformer and a 1/2 12AX7 recovery stage. The sound is divine.

What question are you looking for? I have no intuition for this type of thing. I just don't have the foundation yet. But I would think having the reverb occur after the tone stack would be more ideal, so how to design that with respect to the volume and PI is on my mind.

That's how mine is designed (after the tone stack). ;)

Do you have a larger format photograph of your final layout? Lots going on in there! Looks like you have an onboard effects loop inserted right before the onboard reverb if mine eyes do not deceive me.

In my new build I am copying the one tube reverb of my marle clubreverb. That is an awesome reverb!!! But... I decided to spread it across 2 tubes.. that gives me the option of doubling the triodes in case I find out it just don't work quite like I'd like to. In that case I can switch to blackface reverb, which is (apart from the stand alone units) the general standard of a good reverb πŸ˜‰

This tone king imperial clone I'm doing is really next level form me. Switching relays and all... tremolo by an IRF840 to power tube bias shift. I know, I know..it's not pure analog, but it's the challenge that does it for me.
The chassis is a Deluxe Reverb blank.. really tight, so I am going to follow your advise and do all the chassis wiring prior to component wiring.

Josh, I drew them from scratch in Paint. They are just built up the same way, because I don't know any better.
I used a layout which I altered, nothing wrong intended. But I removed it just now. I'm sorry man...won't happen again. πŸ˜”

You edited my graphics in paint. It looks like you or somebody removed one of them already, but my schematic FX loop is still on there: https://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?t ... #msg288799

Please remove that also. I spend a lot of time on that stuff and provide them for free. I only ask they aren't posted on other sites or used for commercial purposes.

Josh
