Hey folks.. was looking to build a 'non tremolo' princeton with reverb..
Bought the chassis and cab.. had faceplate made to match. (V, T, M, B, and R) but was thinking to 'spice things up a bit'
Any thoughts on a 18 watt style preamp, using 6V6's, and a GZ34, but with reverb?
Something maybe Trainwreckish?
Fire away

How many preamp tubes are there ? You need 4 if you're doing a 1tube reverb. And 5 if you're going blackface reverb.

Then you best do the one tube reverb. For the TMB you need 3 triodes. For the 1 tube verb 2 triodes and another 2 for the PI. Theoretically you have 1 spare triode for the full BF reverb, but I don't know how/if the triodes will interact if you use an unused triode of a gain tube. I reckon it will work. But hey, the 1 tube reverb from Josh oozes reverb. In fact, I put a dwell control on it today to tame it a little. To me the best setting is 75% of the B1M pot. So it attenuates the input signal with 250k.
Maybe you can do a tremolo TMB sans tremolo. Great tones to be derived from that amp!!!
