Tremolo TB will it work?

Post by rexindigo »

Hi, after some help from here, i am about to build a Tremolo TB.
I just want Treble and Bass Pots. I am going for fixed mids.
Can any of the experts check my schematic and layout? Thank You in advance.

Are you going for a mid scooped sound? I have a fixed mid resistor in my Rockin'Bird but that's 27k... I don't think the tremolo TMB will sound that good with a 6.8k..
Schematic is ok... for the record

Thank You Bieworm, thats exactly the type of response i was looking for! The 6.8k was out of some Fender type Schematic. but i will sure go for the 27k then! Thank You

Also play with the values of the treble cap. The schematic says 250pf. I landed on 330pf.
I also find the 500k gain pot in mine adding some magic to the overall sound. It has a less effective sweep though.. but hey

Thank You Bieworm, i will consider to make the treble cap easy accessable, so i can play around with the values.
For the fixed mid resistor I am just thinking of making it switchable:
3 lugs: 6,8k Midscoop, 27k Classic sound, Ground lift without Tonestack (= Boost). Still got one chassis problem: how do i secure the Cap Can to the chassis? i did not get a 32µF/32µF but only a 100µF/110µF but that should not be the problem. Should i go for hotglueing it? or something like a pipe clamp?

You should get the 2x32uf cap can. The one you have is too large.
There are dedicated clamps for cap cans. Tube-Town sells them for 1.8€

And.. if you want to make the mids switchable you might just as well add a 25k pot... I find switches .. avoidable 😏
I know some like switches, but I don't...
