6G3 Plexi Reverb high power build
Hey guys... dunno if I ever mentioned my recently finished build.
It's 6G3 preamp for the 2nd channel, 1st channel plexi voiced, 6L6 power tubes. 6N2P Voskhod preamp tubes. BF reverb, 6G16 tremolo... it's about 35 to 40W fixed bias. A LarMar MV to tame the beast.

Cool stuff. Just leaves me wondering...how would it sound with EL34s?

I will put them in again soon. It's fixed bias, so I have to be careful with the bias. I put in 1K screen resistors so I can switch over safely. On the 6L6 's the screens are like 1 or 2V lower than the plates.. I worry about that with the feeble EL34 screens... but I'll try some time soon. FWIW, the fat juice of the 6L6 's is to die for. And I didn't build the amp with tight lows in mind.JMPGuitars wrote: βTue 05/10/22 12:07 pmCool stuff. Just leaves me wondering...how would it sound with EL34s?
