Dodgy pin

Just pulled the ecl86’s from the amp and look at pin3 of the tube socket,what’s the best way to address this,try pushing back in from top or pulling from underneath? Have’nt seen this happen before.

That sometimes happens when a pin gets overheated (soldering too long, etc...). You can try poking it in from the top, but if it's unstable, you might want to bite the bullet and replace the socket. Better the headache now than the headaches later.

Yeah good call Josh,the one next to it looks borderline on pin 3 as well so just ordered a couple of beltons to replace them.i’ll have to be more careful with my soldering!

I think you should review the soldering videos linked in my signature. Your mechanical connection support is inconsistent, and some of the solder lugs have too much solder. I review the videos every now and then myself, we can all work to improve our soldering...even after 30 years. 🤣
