Drop Trem for TMB ?

Post by Hebaton »

I have my first 18watt. A kit form one of you guys, and it is by far the best amp I ever played.
Now I have one dilemma. The amp I have has the normal and trem channels. I also have a Strymon Flint I think does a great job at tremolo. My question is, What do I gain, or loose from ditching the tremolo and going TMB on the second channel ? I love the normal channel, I also enjoy the trem channel but not so much for the tremolo. SO If I go TMB, do I get a very different, a lot more versatile amp ? or do I just get a bit more EQ on the same recipe ?

Maybe not the most delicate way to pose the question but, you get my drift right ?

Thanks !

IMHO the 18W 1974 is perfect as is. It's very balanced in tone and there is little to gain in what you're asking.
Just leave it and build one with TMB. There's a Tremolo TMB which is my all time favorit, but there is also the Superlite TMB,...
