Thats absurd.

How is adding a different ad in the corner going to make the site more "commercial"? That area has already been designated for commercial space. The cat is already out of the bag! Whether you have 1 ad or 10 in rotation, its not going to make a damn bit of difference, except to the existing "Dealers" who have a nice little protected monopoly up there. What do they have, 7 or 8 different banners up there already? I see, bringing it to 9, yeh, thats the clincher. Thats where we can *definately* say this site is no longer DIY, right? Give us a break, moderators, I'm not stupid and neither are the rest of us.

I petition the moderators to promote FAIR TRADE, and allow new dealers to purchase ads in the banner area, or eliminate them altogether if they are so concerned about "commercializing" 18watt.com. Do the right thing and give everybody a fair chance. Plus, it will bring in more $$$ to support the site!

JA ---

We have that on the list. We DO know about this issue --- it will be all or none. Give us some time - it is a thing that none of the moderators dealt with up to now.

And digging out a somewhat solved thread from the beggining of March would not do any better either.

thanks,

Glad to hear you are working on it. For what its worth, I don't think the banner has ever been intrusive. As a matter of fact, there has been a few times where I've used the banners to get to dealers since some don't have links off of 18watt.com.

Yeah, I like those banner ads too. They help brighten up the site, and they all seem to be for interesting products. Not sure about those Gabriel amps though...
