Suitable Output Transformer

I've recently picked up a NOS Stabcor tranny that is rated for 35 watts. Primary impedence is 6600 ohms. I noticed in another thread that 4K is optimum for a 36 watter. I plan on using a quad of 6V6's. Will my Stancor tranny perform well in this situation? Thanks for any help.

A quad of 6V6s want a 4k to 5K secondary. 6k6 is a little high, but would work (with less then optimal max output power available).

Fender used 6600ohms primary:8ohms for many of their 2 6v6 tweed amps, so you could set it up as a 3300ohms primary: 4ohms for 4 tubes I am sure. just use you tranny and two 8ohm speakers parallel to give ya the 4 ohm load.

I had modified my 18 watt TMB to 36 w ( 4 el34's , I never changed the output tranny !!!! )

Well I blew it up last night , I need a good output tranny for it

ANy suggestions ???

In all seriousness, if you were using a small 18w tranny it likely wasn't going to last, but it was probably compounded by an Impedence mismatch as well. running the 4 tubes cuts the "desired" impedence in half. So like markh said look for one at 4k(ish) primary rated for 20-25watts (hiFi) or 35-50watts (guitar).
