Volume Booster switch/pedal

I am trying to figure out a way to add a volume boost pedal to one of the channels (dirtiest) of my Ceriatone 36w. Something that would boost the volume and distortion for solos. Is there a place where I can ad a resistor or change a value connected to a 1/4' jack that would later go to a footswitch...

This has been done in the JA-TMB 2.0. Its the gain boost footwistch. Look at the layout in my gallery.

One common trick is to use an EQ (Clean boost or even an OD/Dist) pedal in a series effects loop.

The effects loop allows you bypass the preamp section, so you can add some more hair with an OD, but the pedal has direct push to your output section.

Slash used to do that (he may still do it), I do it on some amps in some scenarios (my Marshall head, when there's 2 or more guitar players and a TON of volume already going on).

Or build/buy a treble booster... works great for soloing...

I suppose if the effects loop can have gain, you could put a volume pedal in there.

I prefer JA's way. It's exactly what I want... Now if I can just implement that into my 36w... without blowing the thing up ... I am off to the races...

So using JA's layout it looks like when pressing the footswitch it sends pin 3 of V3 to a 2.2k resistor then to the footswitch that grounds to the tube socket...

But what does it do... i mean to the signal...
