Hi Conner

I have used all sorts of leatherette/faux leather stuff for covering amps.

They all work fine but most upholstery fabrics have a soft feel and therefore dent easily or are “impact” damaged more easily.
Totally fine for home use but not great for heavy gigging/selling.
If you want a real custom look though it may be the only option.

Traditional tolex is non stretch, so it may be worthwhile trying to find suppliers of automotive trimmings, like vinyde, most companies will send a small free sample.

I covered mine (in red) with tolex I got from Lopoline. They may have wine.

I also found a guy recently (don't have a link, but google search for it) that offered tolex in practical widths, so you don't have to by a yard wide, when all you need it 16 inches or whatever. Might be worth it if he has your color.
