no sound! on first power up. Still in Progress

Ya i have an old ratshack dmm and it reads a little less 1 for all of them. but they are close together like .6 .7 .9 ohms. It is hard to read as teh dmm moves around the reading, but those numbers are close enough for government work.

What worries me most is the humm, vibration caused in teh ot when its powered on. you can hear and feel it. its wierd, though no smoke, funny smell, or anything.

The first thing i thought of was that i let the smoke out of something, but after having checked all the components on teh board they are all still within tolerence values.

I just dont get it. Its something with the PI as far as i can tell, cuz when its in the tranny humms, when its out it dont, so the pi section is doing something. i just dont know what...

Ok So i figured out that the jack I installed in my cabinet was a switching type and when i wired it wrong i disconnected the load. BAD!!! ANyway the OT managed to survive that some how. So now i figured out my input jack was also wired wrong, fixed that and power up. I now hear the standard buzz from the 60hz feed. SO i get really excited right!! Ok i turn teh volume up on my normal channel and i get scratchy pops and stuff, but its loud so i hit a string on my guitar and its really loud and then volume up/down/up wierdness followed by no sound at all.

so i started checking voltages again to see whats up, i got 380 on pin 7 of the el84s, 330 on pin 9,

v1, p1 156, p3 1.3, H 7, p6 296, p8 1.1
v3 p1 231, p2 53, p3 77, h 7, p6 226, p7 55, p8 77

I am only working on the first channel and the pi and output right now, the remaining tubes have been pulled until i finish the wiring, completly out of the circuit, the output of the volume knob on the channel got directly into the input of the PI through teh coupling cap, just as shown on teh 36 watt layout.

Any ideas?

Has anyone taken a look at the pics?

I keep seem to find myself getting lost. This is one reason I use different colored wires, it's much easier to follow what's going on without getting lost. It's hard to look at the wires and follow them when they are all the same color. I know that doesn't help, but I'll try looking again.

Its what i had left unfortunately. I wish i had had different colors, as its even hard when looking right at it when you are sitting 5 inches away.

As i am probing the voltages i am getting scratchy noises from the speaker so its gotta be something tremendously simple that i am missing, or i grenaded soemthing either way.

Well i managed to make some small headway on this front and got some sound out of the monster.

It was really fizzy and crackley, and lasted for about 2 minutes, then the volume went down and now i got nothing.

Any one local to adelanto/victorville willing to take a look at it with me?
