When I hit a 'B' on the 6th string I get a dreadfull noise, I have tried every preamp valve I have, but it is still there, could the valve socket be loose? any opinions?

Are you sure the noise is coming out of the speakers?
I've had cabinet rattles that only happen on certain notes, and most recently I used some not-so-great toggle switches and they would rattle whenever a low "E" was struck. Took me a while to figure that one out as it really sounded like it was coming out of the speakers.
If you are sure it's coming out of the speakers, then I'd try using an extension cab in place of the internal speaker and see if you still get the noise. If not, then it's vibration induced. If you still have it then I'd vacuum out the amp to get rid of any solder or wire whiskers, and then check the lead dress for sources that could cause parasitic oscillation.
Basically, check the simple stuff first.
