Road Cases

Post by SpentMusic »

Hi Gabi, sent you a message directly but for anyone else that is interersted.

As part of Swansoncabinets I'll be offering them. If anyone is interested please let me know and I'll send you the price. These are not inexpensive cases and unless your going on the road, not needed.

Hey Gab,

I've seen lots of companies on Ebay selling custom work. I was just looking at AC30 cases for $129 there. The nicer ones with recessed handles and thicker wood seem to be around $229 for AC30's. I would guess that the 18 watter would be in the same range as it's just a bit smaller.

Good luck and let us know!

Caveat emptor when it comes to eBay

Post by bender »

I looked into flight cases a couple of months on eBay and found that while there were any number of people advertising "flight cases" but in many cases the feedback was damning. In one case the cases actually had the reputation for having the bottom fall out when you picked it up by the case handle, not what you would want for a hand-made 18 watt tone machine. :)

To my way of thinking the term flight case implies a case that meets ATA specs for shipping delicate equipment safely by air. I would recommend finding someone that advertises as meeting ATA specifications. There is a manufacturer in Canada (I'm sorry, but I can't find their name) that has a great reputation. Anvil cases are one of the best and not all that expensive.

Jeff, Dan and Bender --

Thanks a lot. It was mainly for shipping purposes for a customer. That can be taken care in a cheaper way, I guess...

But it is always good to know the sources. Anvil Cases - are really good - and at the time when my band toured with them - we never had any problems with it.

thanks a lot,
gab.
