I need a good 1X12 cabinet. Suggestions please?

I have a good 2X12 closed back cab with greenbacks, but I want to get a good 1X12 for something easier to carry around.

With these 18 watt. amps, which works better, open or closed back 1x12? What speaker with open or closed?

I think Jeff at JDesigns would be more than happy to offer the 1x12 in closed back for you even though it isn't on his web site. He does all kinds of custom work.

I have ordered a couple of 2x12s from him with removable 1/3 - 2/3 back panels for switchable open / closed back design. I think this custom work runs about $15 per cab. Email him at jeff@jdesigncabs.com and ask him.

I use a pair of green backs in one cab and a Sillver Bell and Blue Dog in the other cab. Pretty nice tones available from both.

FYI, I have been told that G12H-30s work best on open-backed or half-open backed cabs and combos, or else the low end can be a bit too much. I've never tried one in a closed back cab to be able to vouch whether this is true or not.
