Remove the power tubes and then try flipping the switch again. It may be bad tubes. Did it work without the power tubes???

Your going to have to give a little more info.
Voltages, etc.
Thanks, Jac

Kurt, my JTM45 did the same thing a year and a half ago and it stopped as soon as I changed the fuse to a slow blow of the same value. Mine would pop every 2nd~3rd start up.

If not, definitely try what LooseChange suggested to see what happens.

i put new all new tubes in about 2 months ago. this amp is never dimed it is used as a clean amp only.

but i'll try to use a slow blow. see the fuse blows as soon as you flip the switch
i'll check the tubes also may have gotten a bad one who knows

as for the voltages I'm just a novice i don't have a meter yet

Yes, use a slow blow fuse. The inrush current is too much for a fast acting type.

Don't all tube amps come new from the factory with a gum wrapper installed?

I usually save the gum wrapper and tinfoil for the tube sockets when they get loose. 8O
