Reissue spotted - in print, anyway.

Post by Rich_S »

I was browsing through my newly-arrived August 04 Guitar Player last night, and found Marshall's latest ad - a 2-page color spread, with various heads stacked from top to bottom. There at the top was (I'm guessing) a 20-watter reissue head. I say 20 since it has no tremolo controls.

Nice to see, even if I can't afford.

20 and 18 watt reissue

I was at the Crossroads festival in Dallas and Marshall had some 20 watt heads set up at their booth. Sounded real sweet. They also had a 18watt reissue that looked good but didnt get a chance to play it. The guy said one was going to only be available through guitar center. Whatever that means. I think he said the 18 watt was going for $3500.00. Pretty steep if you ask me. Not sure of the price on the 20 watt.

If their street price is going to be $3500 in the USA, I'll be starting a grey export business from the UK to the US (where they are seem to be priced at about $1900). :)

texastone, I stopped by the Marshall display at Crossroads, too. The guy told me the 18 watt combo would be going for $2400.
They did sound sweet. The sound is what attracted me to their display.
