Ohms!
I am after a power amp to power two monitors
The monitors are 600watt at 8 ohms.
there is an amp for sale on buy it now on ebay i feel may work.
Will a 85 watt per channel at 4 ohms - burn up if i use it for this application. The power amp will come out of the back of a Shure Audiomaster PA amp which has monitor controls for each of the 6 acoustic guitar/vocal inputs.
Any advice would be gratefully received

Neil, I guess the power amp is solid-state? If so, it'll probably be happy to power those 8ohm monitors - Google on the particular model of amp to see if there's info for an 8ohm load.
Slight problem: even if it's OK, the power output will be much lower - approaching half the output of a 4ohm load. So you may end up with just 50W or so per channel.
