Early Breakup JJ EL84's from Eurotubes?

Post by JumpMarine »

I just ordered a pair of JJ 84's from Eurotubes and had the option of early breakup. Anyone else try these, results? Until now I've only run a set of Ei's and TAD's in my TMB. On the TMB channel, the Ei's started breaking up around 12oclock and the TAD's around 2 oclock.

Well, got the tubes in (All JJ's: early break up el84's, matched/balanced 12ax7 for PI and higher gain rated 12ax7's for V1 and V2). All I can say is WOW it's sounds better than it did when I first built it. Solid, tight lows and chimey sparkle on the highend with no harshness. On the tmb channel it starts to break up around 11 oclock if I dig in a bit and the normal channel breaks up around 10 oclock now. It sounds beautiful and I couldn't be happier.

Yeah Bob is a great guy, I've been buying tubes from him for years and out of about 100+ tubes only (1) bad 12ax7 and he replaced it no problem.
