Traditional non-PPI Master Volume on 36w Lite?

Has anyone done a traditional pre-amp type master volume - not a PPIMV - on either a 18w or 36w Lite?

Yes. The "Master" volume on most 18watt TMB channelss and on 36 watts is not a PPIMV.

I'm probably asking the question wrong! I don't see any master volume on the TMBs. I only see a volume for each channel. I'm thinking along the lines of a JCM800 MV...

The TMB channel has a Volume and MV for that channel only which is just before the PI. It's not a true MV as it only affects the one channel.

Does that make sense?

Here's Nik's current layout for the 36W I have... although mine is an earlier version with the MV on the other side of the TMB controls.

Just think of it as the Master, but of a much smaller domain. Kinda like me in my house. I'm supposed to be Master of the House, but I can only control the garage and music/band room. And even that's questionable.

Now I guess we have to define which JCM-800, since there's the older style 1987 and 1959 style preamp and then the 2204 style preamp. For a 2204 style amp it's in the same point on the circuit, right before the PI. It's just that on an 18watt you get another complete channel with it's own EQ.
