Original WEM 15Wer on Ebay UK

Post by loverocker »

Looks straight (and has the Tremolo footswitch), though the back panel is not in the photos. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 2541637693

Someone else buy it and convert it to an 18Wer so that I'm not the only old-amp-raping villain around here

Don't worry you're not. I'm working on something that will really horrify the vintage amp collectors...

C'mon 'fess up - it's a blackface Super with the Vibrato channel swapped out for a Pod board, isn't it? :o

For my next old-amp-ravaging there's a supremely ugly Marshall PA sitting in the bits room: 100W iron with 20 (count 'em!) pots on the front panel and a huge chassis). Destined for a date with the solder sucker at some point and then it'll be an SLO clone with a full tone stack for each channel. And faux leopard skin fur, of course. 8)

Anyway, what have you done?

I'm not saying yet, until it's all done - then all will be revealed. But it involves an old Marshall combo and absolutley no F*nd*r or Pod guts....

I know, I know!!!

You are building the circuit of a Crate club 15 into the chassis and cabinet of an authentic 18W Marshall! That will be awesome! not!

"It's a really neat amp" won't stand up in Court. Your card is marked 8)

Anyways, I decided to pick up that WEM after all. The back panel was there in the background, so with the Trem pedal, it's all complete. And methinks I'd better keep this one stock to win back some karma. ;)

Guilty as charged! I can resist anything except temptation.

If the seller(s) only put "Same circuit as the Dominator" in their auctions (let alone mention the 18W connection), I think they'd get a whole lot more interest. It hasn't arrived yet, I've got my fingers crossed that the valves will also be nice and old. :?

Hopefully, your valves will turn out to be Mullards....

Heres another amp, that is also cool to snatch up, it has reverb and trem, and 1x12 cab.. runs 2x EL84 and 4 12AX7 tubes.. So if you don't like it,its can be used to build something else. At least it has the cab, speaker, chassis, sockets, and about everything. Just make a board to use in it. hey but some like them for what they are..

Or look in there amp section

Hmmm, those Traynor Guitarmates are pretty nice amps as they are. I'm not sure I would want to use one of them for a donor. However, Traynor Bassmates are pretty similar to a Fender Bassman, and are fairly simple to mod into JTM45s, without having to perform any major desecration....

It just arrived - 6 out of 6! If there's a happier bunny than me it can only be Roger Rabbit when he scored with Jessica. What was I saying about karma? :)

Can't crank it until later...
