Germanium fuzz face builds
Hi experts
I wonder… it is always best practice to ground to the chassis in pedal building. But since a PNP germanium transistor fuzz face circuit is polarity reversed, so ground is positive… is it wise to put the plus to the chassis?
Feels contra intuitive…

Re: Germanium fuzz face builds
I can’t really answer the Op question regarding grounding, however Ive built a TON of pedals from the beautiful simplicity of vintage Ge FF’s & Wah’s to very complex Bass Guitar tube rackmount pre’s.. And I’ve never encountered this issue once..
**BUT, I am wondering if any of the folks here have recently seen reasonable priced supplier’s of; Low leakage, F. Face spec’d PNP germanium, NPN Ge/Si “EasyFace/hybrid” matched gain transistor pairs??
As SmallBear has been sold out for months
-It seems the best possible option these days is NOS Soviet Era Russian (But I definitely need a primer on Cyrillic part name/numbering first!!)
-Perhaps Amplified Parts (they have GE pairs listed)?
-Maybe E. European Fx kit/parts suppliers (the tax/shipping will suck but..)??
