goin off the rails with crazy gain!!

Post by SteveinTempe »

I think I have an issue with my normal channel
like Way too much gain its like a runaway
sounds cool but as you turn it up it gets that nasty
rhaspy white noise on top of the distortion
maybe cool for punk rock ..

I was thinking like somehow the PI is not getting ground referenced signals on both sides the reverb side is nice
the normal side ..not so nice
they sound cool when you bridge them really cool
long story..
6sl7 octal tube on one preamp neato retro tone. feeds the reverb channel

power supply could be off I had trouble getting voltages right
I may not have voltage to keep the PI's head above
the preamp.. which makes it more of a food processor then a phase splitter..?

I have reverb and its sucking down the supply
so I may need to scale back things

I can answer questions I like to share what I have done with reverb with anyone who is interested its pretty darn cool.
once again this the hammond amp from an L100
not a "real 18watt kit but I promise I'll build a real one soon!
its not even a money thing I just have piles of these amps
and they are kinda cool..

just needs some tweeking
