EZ80 vs EZ 81 help
I grabbed this from the other thread since it was getting lost. Anyone have any thoughts on this?? Thanks!
This thread brings up a bunch of questions for me!!
My 18 watt lite PT has always run fairly warm/hot and I use the EZ80/6V4. I stuck with the EZ80 since thats what the Grommes donator amp used. Is that why I run hot?? Am I over working the rectifier tube?? Since the tranny sees max .6 amp with the EZ80 won't it (the PT) be freaking hot with EZ81 at max 1.5 amp draw? Correct me if I am wrong on the amp draw BTW. Are we approaching that kind of draw with these things on 6-7??
I like the sag I am getting tonally but I am sure I'd pickup some punch and head room with the SS or EZ81 rectifier.
Can I safely sub the EZ 81? Should I bother?
