Using A scope with Tube amps
All, Just received a second hand dual trace Osc ...
wondereing how to best use with my amp builds...
Any good links or basics on using with tube gear ??
( i have a pocket sinewave gen I could use as well.... )

This is an excellent 'scope primer.
Also have a look at this 'scope analysis of a November (Plexi-ish 18W) amp built by Ramiro Silva, which Paul Ruby and I provided some commentary notes for - http://silvatone.bravepages.com/Novembe ... eforms.pdf
That should help to give you some ideas of what to look for.
NB: We're still trying to get Ramiro to do a couple of EL84 anode traces as well, but the voltages went out of range for his scope, until he gets attenuating probes, or builds a little attenuating network. BTW Ramiro's amp builds are simply beautiful too look at!
Also try to get yourself an audio signal generator as soon as you can. That will provide you a steady signal to look at. I bought an excellent Gould sig gen off eBay for around £30/$50.
